I'm not a saltwater fisherman, barely a freshwater fisherman and didn't get to do that much this year. Reading posts here makes me want to get an offshore boat. But then when I look at the fuel costs, I question if I really want it or not. Not to mention tackel costs.

Hobbies are expensive, and if you love it, well, you've got to spend your money on something. I just don't think I have the time to invest in offshore fishing to make the cost worth right now.

So ya'll keep the posts coming and I'll just live my dreams through this board for a while.

I here ya! I'm not going to like it much either. I don't understand diesel cost because there shouldn't be any road taxes added on it. I buy it here where I work for my boilers and emerg. generators and they don't have road tax. It's red dyed which is tax exempt.

Pretty simple really. The country is being held hostage by the oil companies.

There is less refining in diesel than there is in Gasoline. Diesel used to be real cheap compared to Gas.

As to the offroad tax. There is supposed to be no tax for offroad, but the marina's still jack the price and pocket more profit.
