I cut the starboard basically as a permanent template. I cut it to shape and screw it down to the existing console, it makes good structure and the staples stick to it nicely. As for the fleece, any kind of sweatshirt type material that's at least 80% polyester

So, I'm guessing you staple this fleece material to the starboard to make the shape before you start layup?

here are some updated pics, before and after. I have since re gelcoated the whole top cap, the inner walls, leaning post, transom, console, and floor.also added new steering wheel and controls
