Im leaving for a cruise with my newly wed wife, right before I ship out to boot camp. I really need to figure out what im doing wrong with wiring my key switch for my little bow rider before I go so I can flush the motor from my last trip to the 3mile bridge. If anyone is willing to assist me in doing this Ill pay them. Im just about broke because of this trip I booked for us, but Ill pay any reasonable amount to get this done.
I was a fool and didnt think to see where the wires where set up before I pulled them off. There is about 5-6 wires and two of them are the same color... I live a baseball throw away from the University of West Florida. This would mean alot to me, so maybe I can have a running motor when I get back home! Thanks! -David 850-572-0456 |

Sorry..too far away to give you a hand...Looks like you were up to your screen name:banghead:banghead
When working with something you have no idea about (how it should go back together), slow down and at least make a drawing of the wiring schematic. That can be a nightmare to trace out unless you happen to have a manufactures schematic.... |

If there are letters on the back of the switch, it should be as follows
B- Battery Pos- Red wire S- Start- Yellow/Red trace N- Battery Neg- Black I- Ign(Gauge power) Purple M- Magneto- Black/yellow trace C- Choke- Not sure of wire color |

You can go to the local auto store and buy a generic 3 position ignition switch in the electrical isle about $12. The one in your boat and the generic one will have the same lettering S-selinoid,A-auxillary,G-ground i think just change them over to the new ignition and then your GTG.

Like2spd is fixed. FYI you can not use those switches for outboards. On outboard engine the engine is shut off by grounding the ignition. most outboard 2 stroke engines use a 6 wire switch.
