Default Electronics question

Having trouble figuring out what is wrong with the electronics on my boat.

All the guages on top are working fine(fuel gauage, RPM, volt meter, speedometer). The breaker switches below are what giving me problems. None will come on except the anchor light on the NAV light and the ACC #1. Problem is they all seem be connected on the back in series. Also when I push the NAV switch from Anc to Both NAV lights it goes out. The ACC #1(connected to my GPS/sounder)indicator light will also come on until I turn the GPS on at the unit and then the indicator lights fades off. As far as the batteries they are strong enough to turn the motor over repeatedly. Also have enough juice to run my tilt/trim without hesitation. Whats my problem? bad ground, short, bad switch ? IM STUMPED:banghead

Default RE: Electronics question

I would check my connections from the battery to the switches. It sounds like you have a bad connection somewhere possibly due to corrosion. I had a problem similar to that and it ended up being a corroded in-line fuse coming off the battery going to the common power. Also check your wire coming from the battery. I have seen wires corrode inside the insulation and cause a drop in voltage. Hope this helps. Good luck with it.
