Call Cape Horn (Fabro) they can tell you. I was just up there last and got the tour. Don't remember what it is called though.

You have several options.

You can build a mold and make the stringers, then tab them into the hull and fill them with 4lb density pourable foam.

Part being vacuum bagged.

You could use Coosa Board as a core. There are also some other high density core materials.

I have actually seen them a West Marine at one time. They are expensive, but what isn't on a boat.

I checked their website and nothing showed up. They may have dropped the line as it would not be a large mover, yet does take up a fair amount of shelf space.

I even found a listing from 2002 about West Marine carrying that product.

I think I'm gonna go with your idea ,X-shark. My question is can it be done with a vacum setup?

Yes. that part is being vacuum bagged.

Now i think maybe you mis typed? is your question Can it be hand laid? The answer is Yes also, but you get such a nice part by vacuum bagging it and anytime I can vacuum bag something I do. You get zero voids and a lighter weight part.

There are a few other things to this in making a part, especially if your making short sections and butting them together.

It's to much to write here, but I will explain it if you come talk to me and I will show you some samples too.

your right it was a typo. I'm still stuck up here in VA till the doc releases me . I'm doing some reading up on vacumbagging now .I think I'm gonna get a set up. It's not a terrible amount of money for a good setup considering what can be done with it .

This is a pix that I left out from the above pix's.

This is the waste factor when doing vacuum bagging.

What you see in that pile is the bag [which can be just a piece of 2mil visqueen / plastic sheeting.]

You also see a sheet of bleeder material. it is a cotton like fabric that allows air to go thru and absorbs the excess resign.

4oz bleeder cloth is $4.75yd. That is 60in X 36in

Next is the Peelply. This is what will allow everything to release from the laminate. Never try to pull the peelply until the laminate is fully cured. It is $6.50yd to $10.50yd depending on what resign you use. Again this is 60in X 36in

Once used, this is ALL thrown in the trash.

Before

Here are all the parts fitted in my boat.

All glassed in
