I have a 1988 17 ft. Pro Line center console the steering is locked up and tilt motor is rusted up. The boat has a 90 Johnson.
Anyone have a idea what parts will run for the steering. I found the tilt motor for approximately 80.00. Any idea on labor hour to replace steering? Thanks |

IS the steering locked up at the motor? If so,a good shop should be able to pull it apart and rheem the inside to clean it up..Then regrease and your done..

If you go to Ebay, you can find the steering unit, (TeleFlex), bezel and cable for about $120, new. I replaced the steering system on my 16 CH and it only took a couple hours.

Thanks, I have a guy looking at it now. He is going to give me an idea of what he thinks. Not a marine mechanic, just a friend who can fix most anything.
