Default 06 Yamaha 200 Four-stroke 3.3L

So, after sitting during the off season I couldn't get the engine to turn over, gauges light up, etc. Trim works sporadically but not strong.

I figured either battery or some wiring issue. Checked battery and replaced, checked wiring, all associated with the engine seemed ok (the rest of my wiring is a disaster). Even tried with jumper cables from a new battery to eliminate bad battery cables. Still spastic.

Then I finally get the engine to turn over and run.... all good, gauges still not working properly no info if they even power up, only to find out that I now can't shut the engine off.... remove key, kill switch, etc... still running like a champ. After a few minutes, it shuts off.

My questions:

1) I'm assuming a bad ignition switch would be my starting and stopping issue?

2) do the gauges get their signals to power up from the ignition or from the engine ecu when it is powered up?

3) would the gauge information not showing up be related to the ignition or would it be one with possibly a bad serial bus hub?

4) if this isn't going to be simple, anyone in the Destin area willing to come help me out? Lol

Thanks guys

Well for anyone in the future who runs into this issue, it was an ignition switch. I didnt have to purchase the entire thing from yamaha which is about $200, only purchased a replacement switch for about $45.

Easy to replace and no issues.
