Default RE: Your favorite Childhood Toy? Be Real.

Mine was a Zebco 33. I would get a new one every christmas and birthday. Wore several of them out before I learned to cast a better quality spinning or baitcasting reel. I fished constantly as a child. I had several ponds within walking/bicycle distance from our country home. By the time I was 6 or so, I fished by myself if my father was working. My elderly grandmother loved fresh fish and I would catch and clean a mess ofbluegill and bass for her and my aunts that stayed with her.Under no circumstances would she eat catfish though.Castfish were not considered "clean" (has fins, but no scales) in Leviticus(Old Testament). Besides that they werescavengers, she would say. I never did learn the tricks to catching freshwater catfish. I would tradealimit of grouper and a couple of billfish to bring her another stringer of hand size bream though.

tunapopper (8/20/2008)Man there were so many; Legos, micro machines, Ninja turtles, transformersand etc.

Its unfair to ask me to choose!

Agreed. Definitely Legos and Ninja Turtles. Have to include my first fishing pole, cannot remember it, but it had like a grid globe logo on it, it was some cheap little kid's rod. I spent days in my backyard fishing the lake with my granny, uncles, Dad, etc.

Evel Knievel wind up motorcycle!!! I had lots of stuff I liked and can remember, but man this toy was awesome! I think I gave that thing all I had including running it full out right into a wall and it just kept coming back for more. It would go forever rolling down the street. I have always wondered why they don't have these today with some of the modern bike riders. Seems like they would sell like crazy.
