I had a huge time reading about guitarist and fast cars and concertslast night. Brought back alot of memories.
When I was in High School me and 3 buddys went to Miami/Key West for a week. We were gone a complete week and missed a couple of days of school after spring break. I don't think I slept more than 8 hours the whole time we were gone. The trip didn't stop until we got back home. We done everything we could afford to do, and a bunch we couldn't. Met more people than I could ever begin to remember, and not a bad one in the bunch. Me and two of me buddys have gotten together and went back several times, it just ain't the same as an adult.... Dang. What was your best road trip? |

my brother has spina-bifia and the grant-a-wish foundation asked him for one wish and he asked to go to washington dc and meet the president and sure enough they sent us up there for a whole week first classes tickets, pent house at the embassy suits, limo service every where we went, and meeting the president was on the sixth day. before we met him we went to the FBI tour, lincoln memorial, ect.ect. but finally the sixth day we got to the white house. we were greated by janet reno, bill clinton, and buddy his dog. so we first sat down in the oval office to hear him do the radio address about "gun control" after we had a hour and half long dinner with him and the secret service. :usaflag:bowdown
that was my best trip ever! |

Mine would have to be the first time I drove cross country. I was 19, just out of my first military specialty school and I had just got married. My next duty station was the second school in Lemoore, CA. So I packed up my new bride and everything we owned, which fit neatly in the back of my Ford Ranger, and west we went. Neither one of us had ever been west of New Orleans and we wanted to see the Grand Canyon so we jetted up to I-40 and saw the Meteor Crater and the Canyon and so many other things. Just two young kids with hardly a dime to our name and a thousand miles away from home.

I have driven cross-country numerous times , but (so far) the best road trip had to be back in 2004 , JUST after Ivan ... we drove to Albuquerque , stopping at various Skateparks , and quirky tourist stops along the way ... in Albuquerque , we visited "Chaco Canyon" and "Bandolier" parks
... this trip continues , I HAVE to go , just got a call ... will update later :letsparty

I married my wife in her church in Poland, but we had to do our civil service Denmark. (long story)
We drove from Gaeta, Italy up to Copenhagen, got hitched, drove around Scandinavia, back down to her hometown near the Ukraine border and back down to Italy. No schedule. Wehad a blast. |

Most likely 15 trips to Colorado to snow ski with a gooooood friend....when we would get to Denver (1000 plus miles,20hrs later) he always would stop at shot gun willies(a big strip club)13 stagies, all with different dancers....it was quite a nice place to unwind alittle....but with still 4 hrs. into the mountains,we really had no buisness in there drinking( we were lucky to make the last 4 hrs)mainly from being so tired...we couldn't leave till he saw them all(dancers)

While stationed in England I took a trip with my comrades by vehicle/boatfrom England to
Italy and back. Unfortunately/fortunately which ever way you look at it: I missedmost of France because I was getting over the beer we had on the boat.Germany was nice, Switzerland was breath taking, although the Swiss did charge us$20 to enter their country. The trips through the little alps and into northern Italy wasamazing. I have never seenso many bridges and tunnels leading to stunning views. My friend (boss at the time)Virgil did most of the driving (RIP Buddy), so I had a chance to take it in. I also had the privilege to work in Norway and the polar circle which was also stunning. Hope you all get a chance to do the same Rich |
