"The hospital's administrators were also very understanding when we explained our reasons for buying a case of vodka."<P class=ap-story-p>The patient, was believed to have ingested the poison in an attempt at self-harm, made a successful recover. The incident occurred about two months ago, though the hospital just released information on the case.</DIV></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

If they did that in the US, they'd send a nurse to the liquor store for a $20 bottle and by the time it ran through the drip tube it would be $6800 and would come with a $4000 bartender/doctor bill.

Read closely it says they gave it to him through a nasogastric tube which is inserted through your nose and lies toward the back of your throat and injested into the stomach. Vodka used intravaneously would kill you instantly.
