Default What are you trying to save money on?

We all know times are tough, and due to the increased cost of living most people try to cut back somewhere. I drive alot and recently the lower gas prices have helped me tremendously, but I still try to save here and there. Any Tips?

What and where do you try to cut back to save a little?

I love this time of the year. Because I save money on the power bill. The rest of the time (summer) it's a crap shoot............:banghead:hoppingmad

Buy all of my meat at Sams wholesale. It is much cheaper, and much better quaiity than Publix, walmart, and others.

I got a digital converter and rabbit ears and cancelled my cable TV. I get 12 channels here in Navarre. I cancelled my newspaper subscriptions and read them online. I bought a kayak instead of a power boat.

I cancelled my garbage pick up and now recycle almost everything. I cancelled my once a month cleaning service and now clean the house myself. I got rid of a landline phone and use my cellphone now. I hang my laundry inside my house overnight to dry instead of using the dryer. I use only florescent lights inside.

Oh, and one thing that is costing me a lot more money is that I had to file for the big 'D'...:banghead

I carpool with a couple others so I only have to fill up every 3 weeks now.

I cancelled all my premium channels on cable which dropped the bill $40 a month.

Went to generics on my prescription drugs. (which I've been meaning to do anyway)

My wife and I went from eating out once or twice a week to about once every 3 weeks.

I never drop by WalMart or Academy anymore just cuz I'm driving by. I always ended up finding something I "needed".

The wife and I both had weight loss surgery. Now we only spend about $200 bucks a month on food. I am saving my extra bucks for a new boat when the banks will start lending money again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I called the cell phone company, and had our minutes cut in half(didnt ever use them all anyway) savings-$40. Then we called our internet/home phone company to reduce services, they gave us a faster internet deal for less money(permanent deal) savings-$10. Then I called the credit card company and asked for a much lower intrest rate/min payment. They cut it in half. savings-$50. Total bill reduction a month-$100, I'm gonna call the car insurance next, It doesnt hurt to ask.

I switched to GEICO a few months ago from State Farm. Same coverage is $40 less a month for me :banghead I look at State Farm and Allstate like this. They wanted to screw everyone after the hurricanes, so screw them now!
