If this question has been asked by Curtis before, then excuse me! I am expecting a lot of people to say such figures such as "dad," or "grandad," but let's see what some of the other responses are. Not so much "who got you into fishing," but rather who taught you most about the particular fishing you enjoy the most? Be it inshore, bluewater, or noodling for catfish (man-sport).

Freshwater, an old fishing striper guide named Bill Gaither. Saltwater has been an accumulation of TV personalities, this forum, Saltwater Sportsman, Florida Sportsman, Sport Fishing magazines, a few very nice deckhands and captains as well as my own trials and tribulations.

The person who instilled the passion, respect etc. for fishing would be my Grandfather. Although I've fished with people like Spider Andreson, Rip Cunningham, Peter B. Wright....the list goes on, the person I learned the most from application wise would be Matt Froom. He was the captain on the boat that I grew up deckhanding on and in my opinion is one of the best fishermen alive.

I've mentioned it before on this forum in other threads, but I don't mind saying it again. Mike Peacher is hands down the most influential person in my fishing experience as far as knowledge. He is one of the most knowledgeable pier fishermen I've known, and always quick to share. Although he's taught me a lot about pompano, cobia, king mackerel fishing, among others; tarpon fishing from the pier is where he shared the most with me.

My uncle got me hooked. Since then it's been various members of this very forum and some of my own experiments.
