156 mph in the old days driving a Mopar 440

88 mph in a 15 ft. speed boat

and 103 mph last month while riding in a taxi van from Rome to the Port. Those Italians know how to drive.

Blake (8/20/2008)I've been a good bit over 200mph on a 430rwhp Tubrocharged Suzuki Hayabusa. This was about 2am, interstate. And most bike speedometers read high, this bikes speedo read low due to the gearing.

About 85-90% of the time, your top end is aero-limited with most bikes. You can only tuck so small...

And I would love to see the chart from the dyno run on that 430rwhp bike. That's some funny stuff !!!

WOW! There are some fast folks on this forum. Back in about 1963 or so, a friend took me for a ride in his new Jaguar XKE on a new freeway in Orange Couty, CA, saw 140 on the speedo.

I recently had a Caddy 4.9 V-8 installed in my 1988 Pontiac Fiero Coupe I have had for about 10 years. That is some what over 200HP in a 2,500 pound car. I upgraded suspension, wheels, larger radiator, etc. It is fast off the mark. The V-8 is aluminum and only weighs 85 pounds more than the old 4 banger. I keep my radar detector on all of the time since it gets to the speed limit way too fast. I like to go for an earlly Sunday morning rides and listen to that honkin' American built V-8. I carry a hand held GPS since my speedo only goes to 85. I was cruising about 75 - 80 on the Interstate and a young feller pulled up alongside in his rice burner with a phart can. He smiled and I put the hammer down and was at 120 before I knew it. The front end gets kinda light over 100, so I am going to get some vents in the front to help with that.

This winter we intend to take my car and my wife's 2008 Pontiac Solstice over to the drag strip in Holt. She thinks she is fast, already got a ticket for 93 in a 55.

Just what a 70 year old Grandpa needs. I ain't got smart yet.

Hooray for American cars! The job you save may be your own.

I love our Pontiacs.

Tom

I bet that thing will fly. My brother had one with just a 6 in it and it was pretty quick.

I don't have a big number to throw up here but my vw bug will go from 0 to 100 in just under 7 seconds. It'll go a lot faster but thats in the 1/8 mile.

I'm not sure what you guys are laughing at. There are lots of busa's in the 400hp range.

And yes, there are chains that can handle it.

The bike I rode was built by velocity racing. It had a switch on the dash for low/mid/high boost. The low was around 210, mid was around 330, high was over 400.

Here is one of their busa kits capable of 600hp.

Here is a video of a similar bike, with more HP.

120+ in my Chevy Z71 on my way to the 2005 iron bowl in Tuscaloosa. My speedo says 120 but I was picking up speed. Still had plenty of pedal. So I backed off when traffic in Montgomery at 3:30 AM. I have a few modifications done to the motor so it doesn't stop at 120 :letsdrink
