Default Washing Machines....

My washer chased me out of the laundry room!!! :banghead

After an inexpensive fix that didn't work, I'm better of getting a new one.

Whats the best out there for large capacity?

we have the kenmore elite HE4's and they are awesome......they will cut you electricity billand hardly use any water or detergent......the dryer stops when the clothes are dry on it's own.....they will make your clothes last longer......we have had three different people buy the same set after seeing ours.......the washer spins at 70 mph and sounds like a turbo spooling up.....they really are great machines......no problems so far.....very happy with them......downside is they were about $3000

Scott, go talk w/ Pam. I bought her the Kenmore Elite "Canyon Series" a few years ago and she loves them. Expensive but she loves them and the dang thing is so big she can even fit a king size comforter in them. I don't want to take a sale away from Barry (82whaler) but they had these in stock at the exchange so it was tax free also. Maybe he can find you a comparable and get you a deal. The washer is a top load and from what I understand everything is going to front load.

Personally, I will never get anything but a Maytag! They have always been great! There was a while when I couldnt afford a maytag and I bought something else (I can't remember which), anyway within 2 years I was back buying the one I should have bought in the first place! If you can avoid it don't go with a front loader. Besides having to leave them open when not in use so the gasket doesn't get moldy. Also on the front loader, when/if the gasket does go out you will have to clean up the water. But,I have heard that the gov't is trying to stop the production of the top loaders.

they really weren't too bad......

like I said, I think I bought them about 4 yrs ago at the exchange. I've always preferred Kenmore because it seemed to last longer than anything else I bought. I was really glad when the NEX started carrying Kenmore stuff and I always try and buy the best I can afford. I think I paid about 2200 for the washer and dryer and have been extremely happy with them. They are expensive enough though that I needed to justify it by making them her Christmas present.
