Default Sleep Number Bed by Select Comfort

Somebody recommended one of these to me and does nothing but rants and raves about them, actually two people I know. I am in need of good quality rest and was thinking of looking into these, but they are EXPENSIVE. Does anybody have any input? Thanks in advance, T

I can't speak for the sleep number bed, but I have owned a nautilus for several years and am very satisfied. Both are adjustable air chamber beds and I think the only real difference is mine does not have that neat digital readout on the controller. I also have a three inch memory foam layer on mine. I have back problems and I find it nice to be able to adjust the firmness to my comfort from night to night.

A good friend of mine has one, and he swears by it. He has chronic problems with his neck from a auto crash some years ago and says it has made a huge difference.

My wife is disabled due to chronic back pain. We went to get a new matress in an effort to help her painbecuase she could only seem to go to sleep on our couch. I thought the Sleep Numbers were OK but way overpriced. When we looked at one in the Galleriastorefrontin Bham and she fell asleep in the store. The salesman said leave her alone she was good advertisement. I left her asleep for two hours in the store while I did errands......finally had to go wake her up because I was ready to go home. We bought the bed and she swears by it. She always complains when we go on vacation unless the hotel has sleep number beds.

Call a Radison Hotel and ask if they have them at that location. Gonna test sleep one and if all goes well, will spend the "economic stimulus check" Uncle Sam is sending us on one.

Do you own one, or have you ever spent several days or weeks sleeping on one? We do, and bought one after hearing what friends and family had to say about them. Personally, I think it is a fantastic bed and I consider it the best mattress and most restful sleep I've ever had. Yes they are worth the money. Been sleeping on one for six years and it's as good as the first day we bought it. Can't say that about any other mattress and foundation set I've ever owned.

You know, opinions about beds are like belly buttons, eveybody's got one..........

Here's my 2 cents....I've got a bad lower back. I'm 47 years old and I've had back problems since I was 21. I've done the waterbed (waveless and partial waveless, baffles, etc.), the Nautilus, the Sleep number, the Serta, the Sealy, you name it. When webuilt our new house and we went shopping for a new king bed, I tried the Tempur-Pedic on a recommendation from a good friend. (You know...the Swedish mattress?) I was very gun shy at first because of the price. But, after "test driving" the original and some of the "wanna-be's", I was so damn impressed by the Tempur-Pedicbecause I felt like I was literally suspended in air. It actually molded to my body. Now I know why all the ads for the other memory foam beds compared themselves to Tempur-Pedic. Guess what...it's true when they sayyou getwhat you pay for -- at least when it comes to mattresses - and at least in my case. It's been 3 years now since we moved into our house, and I haven't had any problems with my back or the mattress.

I know one thing....finding a good mattress has got to be one of the most difficult things to accomplish in the world! Good luck!!!
