1970 vs. 2007

Scenario: Jack goes quail hunting before school, pulls into school parking lot with shotgun in gun rack.

1970 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack's shotgun, goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack.<SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 7.5pt">

2007 - School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers.<SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 7.5pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman'">

2007 - Pedro's cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against state school system and Pedro's English teacher. English banned from core curriculum. Pedro is given his diploma anyway, but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.<SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 7.5pt">

I have seen those before, but how TRUE is all that?

AAAHHHH, the good ole days. When my brother and I were growing up, I wonder how we made it to adulthood. We had NO video games nothing like that, just dirt, sticks and rocks.

Hell even when i was young it was all about the sandlot football, basketball,capture the flag, jumping dirt hills, and building forts. Video games were something you did after the street lights came on.

I'm amazed at how much time some people put into these games. I have a good friend whom hasn't come out of his room since he got a Wii....lol

I can remember about a dozen of us in sixth grade (1967) bringing our .22 rifles to school in the morning and setting them on a table in the Industrial Arts shop so we had them for our NRA gun safety course after school.

Yes, it was a different world. Too bad there aren't enough men around to fight to retain the good in what once was.
