I see what Wade and Mike are saying. I've called Wade about some of the trashy racist shit posted here because it makes me sick. Most of it was deleted and for a long time, a good bit of it was not only tolerated but lauded by some of our more senior members.

Today, there is a thread about "join the resistance" and other threads showing buckwheat in front of the stars and bars. Now, I'm as true a son of the south as anyone can be, but Buckwheat on the stars and bars is meant to convey a racist message. And, there are others.

Bitter? Get over it. Not to sound like a bad country song, but.... My Daddys family were poor as hell from south Mississippi. Inside of two years they lost my Granny, the house burned, black hoof got the herd, had a brother die in an accident, (fell from a forest tower going to see PawPaw..he was 11), another brother got scarlet fever and up untill he died 2 years ago could never read or write, Camp Shelby took most of thier land to expand thier Army base as it was during WW2. Never took one cent of goverment assistance. Not one. Never asked or needed anyones pity. One sister and four brothers turned out just fine. There was a black preacher that lived just up the road. He helped raise Daddy and them. He and my PawPaw were very close. I still remember him. Always called PawPaw Cap'n Hatten.

It's your choice. Be bitter for what happened almost a hundred years ago, or, make something of yourself. Last I checked it was 2008, not 1918.

By the way, my Grandmothers family was and still are the O'Neils. Right from Mother Ireland. Don't see me whining....

I hate to say this but y'all have fallen into the very trap that subversive groups and/or guys like this like to lay for the rational person! They step out of line, make some kind of very rash, sometimes terrorist type remarks, hiding all thetime behind the anonymity of the internet, and then disappear to leave y'all fighting amongst yourselves and knitpicking each other to death!!! This is a tactic of many right wing groups, stir the sh!t up and then step away and let them tear each other to shreds!

I was surprised as I read through this thread that Wade didn't go to the crux of the problem at the beginning and ask Chris to ban this kid for the duration. That would have popped his racist balloon for one thing, killed his game plan for sure, and probably kept the peace amongst you others as well. It is difficult to keep one's mouth shut and do what has to be done in situations like this but the worst thing anyone can do, in my opinion, is play into the scumbag's little game of "Tease me Elmo" until I blow my top!! That is what most of this type like to see happen!!

If you notice, the kid, fishguts or whatever his handle is, has not posted for quite awhile! He already accomplished what he set out to do, make y'all go at each other with your own personal feelings, which rationally will differ slightly, and make each of you take your own stand against your "brother" instead of the kid who started this whole mess. That is how civil unrest is started and I don't mean to insinuate that this little kid has started the next Civil War in this country but the very best thing to do is ignore or removesuch threads and posts and remove the offending party so the others can go on and enjoy the forum.

Just a humble opinion from someone who also hates racism and bigotry and also has seen some patterns to these agitaters' schemesover the years.

DON'T PLAY THEIR GAMES UNDER THEIR RULES!!! THEY WIN BEFORE YOU EVER START!

No. I lurk here a good bit and post occasionally. I don't go to the other forum b/c they banned me for something I didn't do. Fuck them.

Besides, this forum is much better. If this event were to have taken place at FS, everything would be deleted and banned w/o explanation. I have a major problem with that.

WOW!!!

Wade appologizes for doing his volunteer job and it makes 3 pages. I did not vote for Obama, my family owned slaves, my family came from Ireland, but the type of bull that was on here is not called for. I dont like Obama but the SOB won and is going to the White House whether we like it or not. I dont want to see open racism on our forum to spread the hate. I am not perfect and yes I dont like alot of people but there is a ine that was crossed and Wade fixed it..end of story, no apology needed.

As for Mike I dont know Wade, he is kinda cute :moon:moon
