Default PLT Mardi Gras Boat Flotilla

The Pirates of Lost Treasure Mardi Gras Boat Flotilla will be held February 6th. The starting point will be Galvez Landing off Innerarity Point Road, plan on being there around 9 to 10 AM. Boats will launch or meet up there and then begin the parade around 11 AMto the Oyster Bar then come back down the canal and head up Old River to the docks behind the Silver Moon. Slip space is available as is a beach to pull up on. The party is across the street at the FloraBama where Joe will be hosting the Chili Cookoff, so there will be plenty of good food. Decorated boats will be judged at the Oyster Bar and prizes awarded at the FloraBama later in the afternoon. The cost is $25 per boat and funds raised go toward our charity, Secret Santa. You don't have to decorate your boat to be in the paradebut it's a lot of fun and you never know...you might win! Bring plenty of beads to throw...there are lots of folks lined up just waiting to catch some all along the route. Beads can be purchased at A&E on New Warrington Road for anybody looking for a place to get some. Just ask for Chris Patterson, she will hook you up.

Here are a couple of pictures from a previous year...the infamous Mardi Gras Mafia...we had this idea long before it became a real Krewe in Pensacola...that's me and Jamielu on the front...Ultralite behind the blond bombshell...and FishinFreak on watch in the rear..

and one of my personal favorite photo's...PFF's very own Bonita Dan being held hostage and "forced" to party at the FloraBama....damn the luck Dan....he was made to drink a Bushwhacker....

Be sure to put your boat # on the STB side so they can see it. :doh

Glad to see the entry fee has dropped to $25. I believe that was a deterrent in the past. When you add all the other expenses into the mix, this "Can" get a little expensive. Beads, boat decorations, beer, food, More beer. Did I mention beer? Money to party at the FloraBama for more beer.

But Man what a ride, IF you have the right crew.

I know someone besides Xshark and Realtor along with Hired Hand are going to show up for this...it is a lot of fun...you don't have to decorate if you don't want to but that part is fun too. So come on guys and gals...get out on the water for a good cause and a great party put on by Joe and the FloraBama crew...it's also the same day as the chili cookoff...so you know there will be good eats there...:hungry

Pourman...can I order my bushwhackers now? You know Jamielu and I will be seeing you there...and I suspect Ultralite will be looking for you too...
