I was just wondering if anyone on here is a member of the Pensacola Chamber of Commerce. They approached me last summer to join. Said they only used caterers who were members. I paid my $340.00 thinking that one or two events would pay for that investment. To date, I have yet to be booked by them or as far as I know any member. The directory came in the mail yesterday and we aren't even listed as caterers in that much less the cafe. So why did I pay $340.00 for nothing?:banghead



Has anyone had any luck at all with them or are they just a scam and I got taken in?

Never joined Pensacola but did join Navarre chamber several years ago. I had to do a 3 minutepresentation at the chamber meeting first time. I only went to the chamber meetings a couple more times after that. I assume what you are paying for 340.00 you should get something for your investment. I would be making some phone calls. But one thing for sure you can network with other members and you need to join their lil clubs within the chamber.

What didI get from the Navarrechamber? Nothing. but I blame that on myself for not being aggressive enuff. You have to get after it. Don't wait for it to come to you...

I started a PFF Chamber several years ago and we had one meeting and a good turnout. Second meeting not so good.But thereare alot of business owners on here.

i have been a member of the chamber for over ten years and they have never sent any work my way, but i hope my dues help point pensacola in the right direction.

will have to check with accounting to see if we are members this year, things are pretty tight.

Problem is that I joined with the perception that they would book the catering company......"we don't book anyone who is not a member". These people came into the cafe repeatedly and loved the food - or so I thought - I paid my dues and they were gone with the wind. I guess it's a "good ol boy network" that only works with who's in their "circle". Pisses me off though that a "chamber of commerce" would be managed in such a manner.

You figured it out. They want everyone's money but only the chosen few get any direct benefit.

You are on their web page, I was a member for years. I could never tell if anything ever came of it, so i stopped. I can tell zero difference.

never heard anything good or bad about the chamber. It's just there i guess......

what do they do anyways?

You're basically paying for the opportunity to market to other business owners while contributing tothe promotion ofPensacola.It's only as good asthe time you put into it. They will not promote businesses that are not members but do not spend alot of time promoting your individual business. Once a member,left for several years but considering it again. Last I checked there were over 33,000 business licenses sold in Escambia Co. but only around 1400 chamber members. I'd be intersted to hear what they are up to. SHB
