The only real Cubian winner is the one that can do the 90 mile Cuba-to-America breast stroke.

Don't forget that the medal winners in the good ole USofA gets paid from the olympic committee and have to pay taxes. If they accept the money, it makes them pros. Then no more high school or college. That really sucks big time. They even have to pay a tax on what the medal is worth.....

I don't think I would get too bunged about the athletes paying taxes. They represent the US in sport.

It's not like they are standing a watch post and getting shot at.... and those guys pay taxes too....

It's not the worth of the medal that they are paying taxes on :

The United States Olympic Committee pays its medal winners $25,000 to gold medal winners, $15,000 to those who take home a silver and $10,000 for a bronze. Some of the richer U.S. sport federations give additional prize money to their winners as well.
