Default My Safe Florida Home Inspections

After attending a recent insurance class and realizing how many people in the industry were not aware of this, I wanted to post it here for anyone else that may notknow.

The State of Florida has earmarked funds to provide FREE inspections to home owners. These inspections are in an effort to raise public awareness about features in home construction that help prevent wind damage. Not only are they free, but they could save you some considerable cash on your homeowners insurance. I don't know how much exactly, that depends on your insurance company. All it will cost you is 30 minutes of your time. Here is a link with more information:

There is a time element here folks because the fund has a dollar cap on it for these inspections, so if you havent done it already...:banghead... get to it.

I have several friends that took advantage of this and now have new windows, doors etc. So i applied and got the inspection.....still no contact from the state on next steps. THe inspector did imply that they were running out of money. Guess i have to make another call.Looks good on the surface-just no follow thru. that sounds like government!!!!

Did the inspector fill out the form and leave it with you?? If so, mail it in to your insurance company.
