This past friday night I happened to total my truck while pulling a trailor. When I talked to an insurance adjuster on saturday he told me that since I had full coverage insurance it would cover my truck trailor and the car on the tralior. Today a differant sdjuster called me and said that the tralior and car won't be covered. Talking to a few friends one of them used to work for the same insurance company I have and I was told by him that it should all be covered without a doubt. Just wondering if any of ya'll have had to make a claim like this or know anybody that has and if so should it be covered. Thanks in advance.

get a copy of your policy and check it out. you could talk to 100 different people and not a one of them would know how your policy reads. ifthe one guy used to work for that company, it's possible they changed the policy contract. i know for a fact my insurance co. would cover up to $2k for a trailer, but not 1 cent for any cargo on the trailer. it's also possible your adjuster is mistaken.

"Typically"..Trailers are covered on a separate policy. I would definatley review your policy and or ask your adjuster were is states trailers and their cargo are excluded from coverage.

My ex was an insurance adjuster for one of the major companies. In training they taught themthat automatically denying claimswould help thembecause a percentage of the people will just accept their response and settle the claim. They will always offer you a lower amountthanmarket for the same reason ( a percentage of the people will accept their 1st offer and 10% or 15% of all their claims adds up fast. Tell the adjuster that the 1st one said it was covered and that you always assumed it was covered and this sounds like "bad faith" on their part. Make sure to use the exact words "bad faith"

yeah man you need to review the section of your policy contract that tells you what a "covered auto" or "vehicle" is. i'd be surprised if the trailer is not covered - at least a little bit. i'd also be surprised if the cargo (the other car) was covered at all. i could easily be very wrong though.
