Default I need a diesel mechanic

I am looking for a ford diesel mechanic or someone that may be able to refer me to someone that can help. I am trying to avoid having to take my truck to the stealership

03 ford f250 with 6.0

Thanks Frank

Good Luck - no one wants to work on them except the dealer. I had the same truck. My advise is to sell it asap. The last time mine went down I didn't even bother to fix it. I had it towed to the Ford dealer and left it - traded with another dealer that took it "as is". That engine was the biggest piece of crap Ford ever made

The problem with those motors is the EGR cooling systems. You can get an aftermarket upgraded one put in for around $2000. It will make the motor a whole lot more dependable. Why Ford didn't upgrade them is beyond me.

That's only the start of the true "bullet proofing" of the 6.0s, and not the best route to take. Really you need to do an EGR delete, add in ARP head studs, upgrade the oil cooler, head gaskets, etc. Try about $5k and then you're getting close to the price. However the 6.0 won't give you any more trouble when bullet-proofed.
