They changed the commercial so it wouldn't be as offensive, that was totally different than the original. Focus on The Family is a hate mongering bigoted group of crazies. That being said, no, the commercial that aired wasn't offensive... but seeing Tim Tebow on TV always offends me. Go Noles!

Here is one version... during the game he actually appears to come in and tackle his mom hard. They both get up and it's obviously a joke.

I'm not angry, I'm just saying that Focus on The Family is a group of whack jobs from Colorado that promote hate and bigotry and use scare tactics to accomplish their goals. I never posted a Bill Maher video, I posted Christopher Hitchens videos. Hitchens is a highly revered public intellectual that takes care to keep his composure and never shows anger one way or another. He doesn't use scare tactics or promote hate, and I am the same way. Do some research on Focus on the Family and you'll see what I'm talking about. I never saw the original, I just read what the plot of the commercial was to be, as was released by whoever filmed it.

I know all about Focus and you're not accurately portraying them. Hate mongering? Scare tactics? Bigotry? You have any evidence or is this just your opinion? Not what someone else says about them but first hand evidence. You know, like video or audio of their tactics or something? I think it is quite easy to call something a scare tactic when it doesn't agree with your point of view. And by the way, the religion editor of Vanity Fair is not the well respected intellectual you claim him to be. Hitchins actually does get quite frantic when put into a corner. he resorts to name calling when he is losing.
