Default HHO modification = double gas mileage

I recentlysaw one of these HHO conversion kits strapped to the front of a minivan. Has anybody had any personal experience building or using one of these? What was the result?

Just curious......there are videos on the net, but I was going for multiple input here.

Thanks

The guy that lives next door to me has one on his E150 van and his Kia car. He paid $200.00 for the info and supplies to build them with very little results. He said that there are some type of prgrammer you have to buy to adjust your mass airflow meter to geta true gain from them.He also has a home made fuel additive he claims raised his milage from 25 to 32 in his Kia. If interested I will pass along this homemade additive( he paid alot for it too).

My son-in-law is making and selling about 3 to 5 of these a week. He manufactures the generator and has developed an electronic controller to adapt the computer for the change (leaning) of fuel/air mixture. He installs the entire kit, and it seems more of an add-on versus an integral modification.

Actually I'm quite impressed (as I was a bit skeptical at first). He now has several venture capitalists funding continued development on through to marketing. His own vehicle mileage improved by 50% or so (as he tells me), and has a steady stream of demand.

Anyway, I have no financial interest in this but if you want tocall him, his name is Carl at 850-582-9600.

Guy I work with has built a few of them improving everytime, he has his on a Ford Explorer and is getting 1200 miles to a tank. He is gonna build me one for my Z71 when I can get the time to get over there.

I fabricate a lot of the acrylic boxes my customers are using for their H2 generators. There are a lot of people hyped up about this now but you don't see much press on them. I have 2 units on my 1999 F150 -ran it for about 6 weeks and had no improvement in mileage but did seem to run smoother and have more power. Later model vehicles with computers need a MAP or MAF sensor enhanser to send an offset to the computer so when the O2 sensor in the exhaust sees more oxygen it doesn't cause the computer to pump in more unneeded gas. In effect it makes it run more lean. This is my next attempt but I want to make sure I do it right so I don't screw up my computer ($$$). Also, I used stainless rigging cable and it lasted about 6 weeks. I'm going with the plates next time.

I have been checking these out, and have built a small one myself, but I seriously doubt that it can increase fuel mileage by a noticeable amount. It just does not make any sense that if it can improve mileage like people claim, then why dont the big car companies and big aftermarket companies make these systems? G.M. was surpassed by Toyota recently in automobile sales, if they could make such an inexpensive device that could do this much to improve mileage, then why would the U.S. automakers that are losing BILLIONS not use this in their designs. I just cant make sense out of it.

maybe they've tried it and in the long run, it wears down a motor twice as fast??? who knows, or they dont want the safety in it..
