I fell for it. I bought a Kenwood HD receiver and I must say I wasn't impressed. My biggest complaint is that it seems to fade in and out at times.

Mike,

I think unless you are an audiophile you won't hear much difference, especially in a car or boat.

I'm no audiophile and I cannot tell the difference in the few rental cars I've driven with it installed. You DO get info like song title and artist displayed on the radiowhich can be cool.

Sounds like a sales gimmick. I mean really, HD radio? I bet you can't "see" the difference:banghead

I've got it in my Canyon as an "after market" install. Replaced the OEM with a JVC. Used to get the song title/artist/etc with my OEM (which had XM radio built in, which probably accounts for why). And continue to get the artist/title streaming on the new one.

Several people have commented on the fact that it sounds better (only replaced the deck, not the speakers): not quite sure if that was 'cause an after market deck or 'cause HD radio.

I also get HD radio on my Zune HD device.

Summary: not that impressed with it. IMO; it probably sounds a wee bit better, but possibly does not warrant the cost unless you are "replacing/repairing" any way..
