Good food in this town? Good luck. Sure, global grill is good but don't go there hungry. IMO, fish house, Jackson's, acme are way over-rated. The Oarhouse is a great location but I don't care for the food. It really is too bad when some of the best food is chains (bonefish, carabba's, etc). Here we are in some of the best fishing on the gulf coast and there's not much in the way of a good seafood restaurant. After many years in the military and with an airline, I used to try all of the mom and pop's wherever I was. Don't look for Guy Fieri here anytime soon.

We went to helenback downtown before the show. I promise you I will never go there ever again, terrible service. Took 30 minutes to get our drinks (there was only 2 other tables in the entire restaurant) and after 1 hour we got our nacho appetizer.... we had them box it up because we didn't have time to eat it. It's a shame too, because the food is really good... but with that service, they wont last long.

Global is the place to go. If there is a food you don't like, go to Global Grill and they will change your mind! I had sweetbreads last week and WOW! My wife and I go for the tapas. We very rarely eat entrees.. Normally if we take the time to go eat downtown we will go to a bar or club afterwards so we don't ever want to get stuffed.

Cajun Specialty Meats is now open for dinner, but I don't know what days. You might want to check that out, I always enjoy their food.

Jackson's is the best restaurant in Pensacola. I've paid 3X the price of Jackson's for similar meals in New York and San Francisco but I still think Jackson's edges them out in quality of food. Maybe I've just been lucky the several times I've eaten at Jackson's.

Thanks all for the tips!! We opted for 5 Sisters and as many have said, it was o.k.---certainly not great. The service was great, though. Jeff Dunham was off the hook!!!!!!!!!!! On another note, where do they get those seats they put on the floor @ PCC? A grade school second hand store? Talk about a tight fit!!!!!!!!
