My buddy and I are going to play the Moors before it closes in the next couple of days.... We wanted to know what the dress code is for the course???? Shorts and a polo shirt? Long slacks? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

In answer to your question, slacks and collared shirtare fine.

But in addition, be prepared for a bit of disappointment. I played on Friday and the course has deteriorated from it's past glory. The greens are poorly kept, inconsistent and much slower. Some of the t-boxes are a bit ragged and the fairways which were not over-sown this winter, are brown in a lot of areas with some areas worn down to bare ground. On Friday the whole coursewas soggy at best with muddy conditions on most of the fairways. Andnaturally the marshals enforced strenuously the cart path rule. This meant walking across soggy fairways before determining which club to use for the ensuing shot resulting in frequent return trips to the cart for the appropriate club.

Overall a less than desirable golfing experience. I play 3-4 times a week and like you, wanted to have one last go-round at the Moors before they close. The fifty plus dollar greens fee would have been better spent at Marcus Point or Scenic Hills and I could have remembered the Moors from days past when it was in its glory with beautiful playing conditions.

That being said, I shot an 84 and still believe a day on any golf course sure beats working!!

Dustcover,

We played out there this past Friday as well and it was a mud pit. The entire course was all mush which made for a not very fun golfing experience. Anyone have any ideas what they should do with the land when the course closes? I say put an Atv/dirtbike course there. There are already hills and the ground holds a good bit of water which should make for a nice dirtbike course.

I heard they were going to keep a maint staff on hand to keep it up, in case someone wanted to buy it in the future. By the previous posts, doesn't sound like they have though......Gonna miss that place.

Well, my buddy and I played yesterday. The course was not too wet- had dried out a bit.... It was a blast:letsparty We took off work early and headed to play around 10:30. We both started off decent, then I imploded on the last couple holes of front nine:hoppingmad:hoppingmad Let me first tell you tho- I play golf about 2 times a year, so I like the fun of tracking my ball down in the swamp, woods, sand, water......Kinda like a little treasure hunt:shedevil Except I never find it:doh I actually got a par on 17 and 18:letsparty:letsparty:letsparty I ended the day with a 116 while my buddy shot a 99:looser:looser It was a blast tho:clap Thanks for the help everyone:clap
