If they were doing something wrong then I understand. If not then the ranger was being uncool. That is all. Used to be kids out there causing trouble all of the time but that was a long time ago. And yes the rangers out there at that time helped make it better. But then again there was a lot of harrassment from them for a while after. Personal experience.

now here is the flip-side. because he let him go now he, the ranger opened himself up. if this underage law breaking person decided to get in the car and leave after he was let go by the dick cop and had a wreck and hurt someone or even killed them or himself the family would be screaming " you knew he was breaking the law but you did not do your job and you cut him a break and now he has killed someone or himself." pay us, pay us pay us. oh, after the family is paid the dick is looking for a job to feed his family because someone parked on the grass. ' now i am going to |

Bullying a few "underage" kids who have broken a couple rules doesn't bother me at all.
I've been there as a teen, learned I'm not the badass I thought I was. NO harm done, except to some young egos. Tell me again... where there any arrests made? Even though laws were broken? I side with the Rangers, and I've been the teens. I've NEVER been an LEO though. Jim

he parked on the grass but did not kill anyone. you sir better not call the police if your neighbor is playing his boombox to loud, or if someone is parked in your place, or you got cut off in traffic, or you just got all of your boat stuff stolen, or the neighbors dog is barking all night. hell they did not kill someone let them go.
except for the grand theft part WHY WOULD I CALL THE POLICE for any of the rest of that crap. (and what the hell is a boom box???) now here is the flip-side. because he let him go now he, the ranger opened himself up. if this underage law breaking person decided to get in the car and leave after he was let go by the dick cop and had a wreck and hurt someone or even killed them or himself the family would be screaming " you knew he was breaking the law but you did not do your job and you cut him a break and now he has killed someone or himself." pay us, pay us pay us. you have a wonderful imagination by the way he did not arrest him for being drunk in public so i guess the law suits are ready to fly HUH oh, after the family is paid the dick is looking for a job to feed his family because someone parked on the grass. not sure which penis you are speaking of so i will just leave this one alone. |

A long time ago when growing up I did some things that I'm not proud of but it was nothing that caused anyone harm. I never got caught or in trouble. I eventually straightened up my act and life was going somewhat okay until my crazy girlfriend of 5yrs was upset with me over something not worthy of being upset over. I wouldn't go to bed because I wasn't tired enough to fall asleep (insomnia issues which explain my late night posts). Anyhow she was going to show me she could have her way by dialing 911. Long story short, a rookie cop violated my rights and his partners covered up his lies which nearly ruined my entire life. I did absolutely nothing wrong. That's why at times I may have a negative perspective of law enforcement and use not so nice descriptions. I know like any profession there are many good honest people and hopefully if any only a few bad apples. It's just hard to completely let it go and when I read this thread it reminded me of some things that I experienced out there at Pickens. A friend was beat up bad. I stopped the guys who were doped up and about killed my friend just for kicks. Cops came and took them to the car to run ID and then let them go. I wanted to press charges and they just left me there to take care of my battered friend. No protect, no serve, no assistance, just outright abandoment and failure to do their job. There again, it was a long time ago. So please excuse me and try and understand that I'm trying to trust again and have faith in our system. Just from my experience the bad has outweighed the good. In this particular situation it sounds like the rangers did their job, used good judgement, and were cool with the kids knowing they weren't up to no good. Sounds like they know how to choose their battles and do the right thing. And it sounds like sureline is on top of things and is a great father |

It seems to me that there was some leniency given in this case, which is good I think. The bad thing is that they dug through every bag and the vehicle that the kids had. Like Billin, I see this and many of the issues in society in light of our Constitution and the fact that very few in our government have any regard for it.
We did fight to have freedom but we now live in a police state. The U.S. Has 25% of the worlds prisoners bit only 5% of the worlds population. We have more people in our so called "justice" system per capita than any other country on earth! And on the alcohol issue, it is sad to me that we can ask men to die for us but not even allow them a drink. I served in the Marine Corps over 3 years before I could have a drink legally with my buddies. I suggest people read our Constitution, it can be enlightening. |
