Default Fort Pickens, Now i'm Pissed

My youngest son went camping with some more boys (all 18 ) at the fort last night .The Park Rangers stopped at their camp sight and searched their cooler (ok) then held there hands behind them searched them then the tent and all bags in the tent and truck. What the hell ,they wonder why kids have no respect for them ,hell i don't no more either. I thought this was the united states. They didn't even give a reason for the search. I'm going there now to find out why.

While there are always two sides to any story, it sounds like the rangers are out of control.

My advice is to go in with as open of a mind as you can, I know I would be seriously pissed if this happened to my son... you might have better luck getting to the bottom of this if you can go in cool.

Good luck!

I see that its still the same out there. Not surprised by the search with no reason given.Probably another unprovoked act by rouge park rangers that seem to not have to answer to anyone.I once filed a complaint on a law enforcement ranger that I turned in at the checkin office requesting feed back on what ever action it received and was assured that would happen ,serveral years later still no feed back!It probably found its way to the trash can instead of being passed up the chain of command!

I have heard several of these stories over the last couple of years.

At some point, heads need to roll out there.

I think, that whenever something like this happens, it`s not because people just felt like doing it, but more because something must have happened prior to the event. Maybe, or probably, not even with your kid, but maybe they just had had a bunch of trouble with youngsters like that who were smoking pot or drink in beer and doing crap. Maybe, I don`t know. But i always assume there must be a reason.

And that is a reasonable assumption. Except that the recent history of so many similar events at Pickens.

and no trouble causing people for the reactions/searches?
(I really would`t know), just "believe" in "action reaction" more then reaction without prior action, but then again, you never know, especially with "uniform people".
