Default RE: Fla. lawmakers OK take-your-guns-to-work law

If one looks at the regulation and process involved in obtaining the Concealed Weapons License, they would find that the people that possess weapons under this license are not criminals. What is the problem with a law abiding citizen carrying a weapon in their car?

A criminal with a weapon is going to bring it on a business owner's property whether they like it or not. Whether they know it or not too.

I am sure many employees already bring their guns to work in their vehicles, but I don't see any business owners going and checking cars for weapons.

Iwould be interested to hear the position of an actual small business owner on this matter.

Private business parking...Company decides.

Public business parking..No restrictions.

I got fired for having a firearm on company public parking. Was the first employee fired by this owner thathas ever been able to collect unemployment. Need I say more about the fact that I pack.

Florida law extends the "Castle Doctrine" to your vehicle.

So long as the weapon remains in your vehicle, it is NOT on the business owner's property - it is on yours, as an extension of your house, and it is lawfully present there.

Period.

The minute that weapon exits the vehicle it is on the private property of the businessowner, who may prohibit firearms on his property if he (in his foolish mind) wishes.

Were I running a business open to the public I would WANT CCW holders to carry. If some jackoff wants to come in and rob me, it increases the odds that there will be more than one person armed in the place at the time (with me being the other person!) and thus able to stop him.

For those that own a business and I happen to be there, you can bet your ass I'm packing. Like it or not....it's a fact. Short story..I've had some sure enough rednecks in my neck of the woods want to drag me out of my car and beat my ass. Amazing how these drunk SOB's changed their mind real quick. Told them if they so much as put their hand on my car to open the door it would be the LAST thing they would do in their life. :blownaway:blownaway
