FANTASY Football - adult dungeons & dragons LOL

So I don't derail the "Joe Z. - shrimp for brains" thread:

I've got to bash you fantasy football participants. Talk about sheeple. You've been baited, hooked and played by some awesome marketing media.

Standing around the water cooler talking about ACTUAL scores and ACTUAL plays and ACTUAL teams is awesome. Acting like a GM, talking about your trades, how your players did, what your score was in a NON-EXISTENT, FANTASY world, is absolutely pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!

I've even seen some of the worst tirades and fits about STUFF THAT AIN'T EVEN REAL. Sometimes people even throw in their PS3/Xbox game plays and scores and can't discern reality from fiction.

I think I'd respect you more if you started a FANTASY porn league. At least that seems natural to a man

I hope your wife doesn't cook fantasy dinner or make fantasy lunches... I bet you'd throw a fit about that!

I would have to agree with you if you are talking about a no money league. But, FF is really a means of putting some money on football in a way that gives you a chance to win the cash based on more than just pure chance. Often times a teams season is based on mid season trades, IR moves and all sorts of other decisions. So, it's not just straight up gambling, you can actually have some input on how your team does. Make bad decision and kiss your $ goodbye.

We've all had some shameful moments. Let's just not let them be like justifying adult dungeons and dragons by saying we're putting money on it!

Sounds like SWhiting didn't do so well in the Fantasy Draft this year!!

Just joking, I signed up a couple years ago to play with some friends and after the third week I couldn't handle it. You seriously have to spend hours a week to keep up with who is hurt or not, who to trade. Just too much work for me to do for something that isn't paying the bills. It's very popular though.

In my book, football just isn't the word that comes to mind with fantasy.
