that snake was no different than a loaded pistol, left unattended.

I feel bad for the 2 year old.

Well, kind of has a point there.

The point was it was an accident waiting to happen. Like me, beer and fireworks.

rather be shot dead than sqeezed to death.

Thats what would bother me the most about an accidental death of one of my kids, a slow death where they know its comeing, probably screaming for help, struggling, and then died. Basically living the horror of hte death

Sort of like drowning.

What a horrible story. Makes two of us spear em, not a very good analogy. I'm quite sure I have never had to give my Glock a live rabbit to eat either.

Snakes don't make good pets, sorry to all of the snake dukes on this forum, I know you are out there and will pile on me promptly. I don't mind small non venomous snakes in my yard either, I'm not some a hole who is of the "only good snake is a dead snake" mentality so save those comments. But I don't think anyone should have large snakes that kill & eat small animals instinctively in an aquarium or some other "enclosure" in their homes. Its simply ridiculous.

Yeah snake guy, we see you, you're mysterious, you have snake, very cool. Trust me, your friends who don't have snakes think its weird too, they don't tell you that, but they do. And no, no one over the age of 12 wants to touch it either. That is what Zoos are for.

I think what he is trying to say is like with anything else if you dont act responsibly with whatever you have be it a gun or a snake it can kill someone or cause great harm. I had a ball python and it prolly couldnt kill you and prolly wouldnt try but when I had my daughter I got rid of it just for that reason. You never know. Its a shame to because there will prolly be charges brought and in the end its not gonna make the little girl come back and I am sure the boyfriend and the mother are beside themselves. Gave me chills when I read it.

That's funny as hell. In my younger days I had some small snakes as pets, so I guess I fall into that category somewhat. But, I think I know about the REAL snake people out there. Usually has a pony tail and very much into World of Warcraft, keeps snakes because he thinks it makes him "edgy."

No different than that lady who was torn apart by the chimpanzee in conneticutt (I think thats where it happened anyway).

That chimp was also the same as a loaded weapon. Dogs and cats make good pets. Rabbits make good pets. Some birds make good pets.

Large exotic animals suck as pets. Monkeys also do not make good pets.

Just a matter of time before someone gets hurt. Its all fun and games until someone loses an eye, hand, or 2 year old child.

I know a Wildlife Officer in South Florida that went to a week long training session on "Capture and Handling of Large Snakes." The first case he was called on was a 12 foot python. He said,"Screw it." and shot it.
