Default Census 2010

Did anyone notice on the Census form this year the very first and only required question was in a shaded box at the top left and all the other questions that are optional were not?

I thought it was odd that the Government was asking ao many personal questions that have nothing to do with the original goal which was to get a Idea of population. Why would it be any of their business? I just answered the question " How many people live in your house?" And then wrote with sharpie " The rest of these questions are not required and none of your business"

Did you also know that the census has been done since before we were even the U.S. and that it was even done when our original forefathers were in office?

Do you really think you are doing you or your state a service by not answering the questions? Do you really think any of that simple information can be used against you in some way? You drive a car don't you? There is more information on your drivers license that could be used against you than the census. You're right, I think you should answer none of those questions. Then I think you should throw away your drivers license so those sneaky bastards cant' find you. Of course, I think you should also go see a doctor about getting that schizophrenia looked at. I hear they sell Chinese aluminum foil at Wal-mart that you can wrap your head in to protect yourself from the man.

I sent ours in today, but the only thing I didn't understand was the race part. I mean you have to mark a box stating that you are not hispanic and then another saying your white/black/whatever, but the hispanic question also said "of spanish decent", so what if you are white with relatives that are spanish (from spain)? People from spain are white not Latino. And then again being from south america and speaking spanish doesn't mean anything either, I've meet people of asian and anglo decent from southof the borderthat spoke spanish (local dialects of course). People have emigrated and immigrated all over the globe.

And what if you're mixed race? Our very own president is half white and half black. There was no box for Obama to check. What about Jewish people, yes it is a religon but alsoa race of people, why not a box for them?

If your family has been in this country for more than 4 or 5 generations chancesare your race isn't just white, black or latino. It's a heck of a lot more convoluted than that fora lotpeople.

Why do they need to know if you own your home outright or if you have a mortgage?

The Census is vital for state and federal funding. Please fill it out! The government already knows more info than the census requires you fill out. There is over 400 billion dollars to be dispersed.

Also, if you are American Indian, put that on there. There are several billions of dollars waiting to go to Native Americans after this census, and Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties are home to 25% of the Florida American Indian population.

If they decide to do so, in accordance with public law, you can be cited and fined $100 for not answering all of the 10 basic questions and $500 for providing false answers. 13 USC Sec. 221 as follows:<DIV class=clear id=abm><DIV id=abc><DIV id=articlebody>TITLE 13 - CENSUS

CHAPTER 7 - OFFENSES AND PENALTIES

SUBCHAPTER II - OTHER PERSONS

Sec. 221. Refusal or neglect to answer questions; false answers

(a) Whoever, being over eighteen years of age, refuses or willfully neglects, when requested by the Secretary, or by any other authorized officer or employee of the Department of Commerce or bureau or agency thereof acting under the instructions of the Secretary or authorized officer, to answer, to the best of his knowledge, any of the questions on any schedule submitted to him in connection with any census or survey provided for by subchapters I, II, IV, and V of chapter 5 of this title, applying to himself or to the family to which he belongs or is related, or to the farm or farms of which he or his family is the occupant, shall be fined not more than $100.

(b) Whoever, when answering questions described in subsection (a) of this section, and under the conditions or circumstances described in such subsection, willfully gives any answer that is false, shall be fined not more than $500.

They will contact you giving you another chance. Of course that will just cost the taxpayers more money, but what the hell, it really would be a drop in the bucket. Of course if 50 million more take your scofflaw attitude, it will be more than a drop.</DIV></DIV></DIV>

I wonder how many of these people that are afraid to answer the census questions filled out and sent money to the republican mail out disguised to look like the real census.
