Hey, I own a moving company and have had my class B CDL for 22 years. If you need help you can PM or call me at 850-941-8803. I'll be happy to ride with you and show you everything I know. If you need we can use one of my trucks, they are equipped with air-brakes. Oh yea at no charge. Just help you out.

redfishin'JR (02/03/2010)The CDL handbook is a must. The pre-trip inspection and the air brake test are the hardest part. Make sure that you have the air brake test down pat. I missed one part (i think there's 3 parts)of the air brake test and the instructor stopped me and said "test over".
New rules require that you must get all three parts of the air brake test correct to pass. As has been mentioned, the most difficult part for everyone I've seen is the vehicle inspection. You must point to, or touch the components you are inspecting, and explain what you are looking for. You can't just say this is my "serpentine belt" and it "looks good". For example, you say, my serpentine belt drives my alternator, power steering pump, water pump and air conditioning compressor, it is properly adjusted and has no cracks, cuts and is not frayed.

You must be prepared to test on the entire vehicle, but may only have to actually test on a portion of the vehicle. Good luck.
