finfever61 (2/7/2010)Has anyone taken their paperwork for a CCW to Fort Walton. I tried to do a search but to no avail. Anything I need to know? I believe it's on Eglin Pkwy?

Everything you need to know about Fort Walton is on my website page, map and pics included.

http://www.iwillnotbeavictim.com/How...et_my_ccw.html

-You have to make an appointment, they do not accept walk-ins.

-Call first. number and directions on website

It takes about 2-3 weeks for appointment then 5-7 days to receive CWL in mail.

-Show up on time they run a tight schedule! Whole process takes about 25 minutes.

-Bring Picture ID, if resident alien bring papers/green card, or citizenship papers if you were not born in USA

Bring your training documentation

-Bring check or money order for $117.00 They do NOT accept cash or CC!

-They will take your photo, prints, and computer application there.

Very easy and painless.

hope this helps.

+1 on Capt. Ron's site, instructions (and class). The page has directions, pictures, instructions; everything you need. The folks at FWB are great. Very polite, professional and efficient. The process couldn't be easier and the License comes quickly. Mine came in 6 business days from appointment day to receipt. There is no other way to apply. it is worth the drive and time to do it this way. If you are looking for a class, Capt. Ron's the guy. :bowdown

Earliest was June 6th, but that's the one week that I'm not in town. Annoyingly, I'll be back in Europe for work before I get the CCW at this rate. Gonna have to read up on the rules for non CCW as I'd still like to go to the range.

Yeah I called them too and they said June 6th was the next appointment! A guy at my work got the paper copy and did his own passport photo at CVS, got it notorized, took it to the police office and they were glad to do his finger print card for free if they can have a copy lol. Mailed it off and received his license in about 3-4 weeks. Costs $117 in FWB, did it himself for roughly $135 so he didn't have to wait 2 months to apply.
