Default CCW In Fort Walton Beach

Has anyone taken their paperwork for a CCW to Fort Walton. I tried to do a search but to no avail. Anything I need to know? I believe it's on Eglin Pkwy?

I think he is talking about applying for his permit, not taking the class.

If you go to the office to apply, you don't need the paperwork. It is all done on computer, printed out, signed and notarized. They take your photo and fingerprints there. the office is just past the old Truck parts place as you get off Hwy 98. The building is in the middle of the curve before you get to the light at Eglin Pkwy.

Wow what a smooth operation the Department of Agriculture has in Fort Walton Beach. Once I had the proper method of payment, check or money order - no cash, I was in and out of there in 20 minutes with an appointment I made a few weeks back. No messy ink for finger printing, CSI style scanner had my finger printsdone in about 60 seconds! Lisa who helped me was very polite. She told me I should expect my permit in 1 -2 weeks! Wow, if I knew it was that simple I would have done it some time ago but I had heard some horror stories on this forum. I hope everyone else who visits there has the same excellent service!

Does anyone know if my Alabama Hunter's Education card is valid for my CCW? I'm a Florida resident now, but got my AL card a while back when I was living there. I know that it is valid for me to buy a FL hunting license which means it is recognized by the FWC. Their site states:

"Completion of any hunter education or hunter safety course approved by the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission or a similar agency of another state."

The staff over at FWBis second to none. Very polite and easy going. Wharf, I don't know about the Hunter's Education but go on the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Dept website and look under "community courses" or something like that. You can print out an ap and go to the class. It's free and it is a great class. I'm sure Escambia does the same. Anyway, you get the cert that day as well.
