Popeyes was about a weekly dinner fer the family!!! Man I wish C-View had a POPEYES!!!!!

Yep, Hopkin's Boarding House was THE best. Of course they were just about the best on every dish they served. Man I miss that place.

Back in the 70's they opened another restaurant on 9th Ave., Blanches. My dad used to buy me meal tickets so I could ride my bike up there and eat when he was working late. I'd also sneak away from High School (Woodham) when I was old enough to drive, eat lunch at Blanches and head back to school. Never got caught.

Here's the best kept secret in the Panhandle....McGuires. I believe it's one of their lunch specials. You get three pieces and two sides which is about six bucks.

Agreed, 5 Sisters is pretty good, but doesn't come close to Hopkins. My wife makes some damn good fried chicken; I have no idea what her recipe is and really don't care. I just know it tastes mighty good. I try not to pay attention to her best tastin' recipes because I know they're generally not the most heart heathy. She doesn't fry chicken very often.

Deep frying is a lot of work which is why I stopped by Publix on the way home when the family is hungry for fried chicken.

Bojangles.... havent seen one in a long time, mabe 1 or 2 left in Jacksonville, great fried chicken a heck of a chicken biscuit in the morning.
doent like churches too much but better than KFC. Popeyes has my drive thru business, but I have not found a good sit down other than cracker barrel which is pretty good.
The best I have ever had was in Munich Germany, just something about the grease and spices used. It seemed like it was tripple battered or something crazy. They got me hooked on lemon juice with fried chicken like I do with fried shrimp.
I wont get started off topic and bring up the real Cordon Blue they have in Germany and Austria
