HISNAME...would like more info on the inside alarm wired to the motion lights? we have motion lights on front and back... how does the alarm work inside if the cap or tape is over the sensor?

We do get alot of cats in our area (that would get aggervating with the alarm) but if I hear them in back or my dog does, I let her out the front (or opposite) door.
We do have a big dog that lets us know about every noise (sometimes aggervating cause she always wants to bark and go out and investigate). And Again We let her out the opposite door she runs to.
We have a Wiemaranner that is an inside dog but is outside a whole lot. My daughter is never playing in the yard without my dog beside her, and of course us watching.
My Wiemaraner has drawn blood on my arm from wrestling around with my wife, She will confront me if im holdind down my little girl tickling her and wont stop barking untill my daughter tells her OK and pets and hugs her and says good girl (she actually snipped at me a year ago during a spanking, I wasnt yelling but I guess she didnt like the sterness in my voice directed at my daughter and her "crying as a reaction". Its kinda crazy cause I am the one that spent the time, trained her gave love when my wife couldnt stand her for not listening in her younger years. She also lays by my side on her back everynight on the couch, she wont lay with my wife or daughter.... go figure.

If someone were to enter my home uninvited then they are a criminal and I would do whatever necessary to protect myself and family without hesitation.
At no point did I say anything about shooting someone in the back. Don't know where that came from. But like Ron White said, shoot them in the leg. At some point their gonna get curious and turn around
Very glad to hear that everything turned out okay. I moved away from Pensacola in'99 and would never live there again. It was so sad to see it go from a great place to live to a heaping dump in most areas. Truly sad.

Damn, i live on the corner of Van Kirk and Mallory. We get some shady people walk down the street from overflow of the apartment complex, but nothing that thrws a red flag, YET. I think that EPH is actually a very safe neighborhood over all. I know that a lot of crime goes unreported but the Pensacola LEO crime map shows us as the second lowest crime area next to Gulf Breeze. I've lived here off and on for about five years and only had one theft occur. I think with two big dogs and a full house motion light system it detures any would be thugs from coming to our house.

On another note, i didnt realize we had so many PFF'ers in the EPH hood. I would like to meet you guys and help develop the local "network" in case anything happens. We could help look out and report a problem at each other properties. We walk the neighborhood daily. See you around hopefully.

Cheers.

Simple . when your motion sensor tuns on the light it powers the 110 volt AC to the light bulb . you can have the 2 wires going to that bulb also go to a power cord that then has a DC transformer attached to it. I like to use old transformers that are no longer used for whatever Chinese device it came with. Now you have safe power as it is low voltage and it will only be powered when the motion detector kicks on the outside lights. this can be wired straight into a buzzer inside the house .

you can then add a switch in line to break the circuit if you would like so you could disarm the buzzer when you want.

you can also tilt and adjust your motion detector where the dog or cat will be to short to activate it but an upright human would activate it.

the motion detector has a photo cell inside of it that lets it know when it is dark and at that time it starts to turn on the lights when it detects motion.

a simple piece of black electrical tape over this sensor will make it think it is dark all the time and therefor activate when motion is detected around the clock.

this is a very simple design that I discovered 20 years back and it has served me well

another tip. you have seen the Frogs in Walmart that go Croak when you walk by.

the electronics can be taken out of the frog and they are very small.
or place the frog on a shelf or in some artificial flowers on a shelf near your back door so it is higher than the dog.

cut the wires and remove the speaker from the frog and run them into the mid point of your home with small wire.
when someone gets near your back door the frog will croak without them hearing it. they have other things that work this way and it is all low voltage and safe

I build my own security cameras and they are small but high resolution. a pine cone , a stick , even an artificial dog poo may really be a camera recording to a huge DVR

seriously look into security and sleep better at night

No shit? Wow. Ok. You live next door to John then to the north. I would ask the lady that owns that lot if she saw anything. Probably a friend of one of those kids that live in the crappy looking apartments. Always some sort of commotion over there.

A beer sounds great. Name the time.
