Yes, there used to be a resident alligator at UWF that we called Captain Thunder. He had one leg gone with the remains looking like a paddle. After H. Ivan they found a huge blind one in Escambia Bay so I'm guessing Bayou Chico gets one at times. Even stranger is when there is a black bear swimming in the middle of the bay.

So they are here, but not really alot of them... chances of ever actually seeing one is probably pretty slim I guess.... okay, scratch catching an alligator off the list and stick to the sharks... LOL

We had an alligator swim by us at Galvez landing about 15 years ago. Yes it was in salt water, not brackish. I assume it came down Perdido River into the bay.

My wife's dad lived on a golf course in Gulf Breeze, but never saw a gator there... I ask cause if they are here, I would like to know where they are... wouldnt mind checking some out and at the same time want to know what areas to be careful in......

When I was stationed at Ft Polk, LA, there was one in a lake on base. We used to go out there sometimes and toss him some food...

If you do find a gator dont feed it because they get used to being around people wjick makes them more dangerous.

they found one at ft pickens last year...they are here...
no big deal...

I'd be careful for small kids and pets, other than that, i'd worry about driving down the road or being struck by lightening...or being shark bit...
