Actually, I think Muschamp is more likely to wind up at Clemson or UT since Auburn probably will wait till after the 'bama game to fire Tubs...

It's pretty silly to think they'd fire Tuberville after one lousy year, even in the unlikely event that they tank for the rest of the season. Just a few plays separate them from 7 and 0 (or 2 and 5 for that matter), and Auburn would look pretty bad canning him, with the kind of success they have enjoyed with him. Anyway, he has a history of winning the games he has to in order to get himself out of the trouble he gets into by losing the games that he shouldn't. If they can get any kind of offense going, it wouldn't surprise me if they win out.

Most importantly, while there's certainly no love lost between Tubby and the powers that be at Auburn, they are going to balk at shelling out the $6M it will take to get him to go away. Colonial Bank isn't likely doingwell enough that Lowder wouldn't be willing to give him another year or two to sort things out. And if I was Clemson, I wouldn't pay enough for him to get him to leave Auburn.

I heard a rumor that Rob Spence (Clemson OC) may be headed to Auburn. Anyone else heard that?

I haven't heard anything about spence going to auburn and don't think thats likely at all. Tubs is done at auburn but I don't think you will see any announcements till after the 'bama game. He has been at auburn for 10 years now and only hasONE conference championship. IMO, there is no excuse in having the Auburn program in the position it is in after 10 years. Tubs is getting outworked by Saban and Richt among others. He is a GREAT guy and has done many good things for AU but most AU fans feel like its time for a change. That and the relationship with the Board of trustees.

I'm not sure why Auburn would want to hire an OC who had been fired for lack of production, since they'e already paying two that they've fired for lack of production.

Spence is actually not a bad coach at all. He has just been restricted under Bowden's incompetent coaching.I am not saying the rumor is true, butIdon't think it wouldbe a bad hire for tubby.Just my .02.

If I remember right, Spence was on the short list in the past when Tubs was looking for an OC(which seems to be every other year)

Still I don't think it matters b/c Tubs is gonna be gone after the season.

Louder can try to make CTT's life hell andattempt to causedissention at the Universitybut when it comes down to it, Louder has no hiring or firing power. Well yes, money has power but at the end of the day there is one man that can actuallypull the trigger onCTT. And as far as I can tell, he won't fire him. That being said, he might be gone tomorrow cause you just never know! :letsdrink

Don't be surprised if Auburn gets rid of the entire offensive staff at the end of the season though.

Rob Spence will be rumored. Pat Nix will be rumored. Some of the oldtimers will probably throw Sullivan in there as a name. USC's O-cord will be in the hat and Norm Chow (my choice) is probably a pipe dream but will be rumored.
