It's going to be late - no days in the next 10 will be over 62 degrees. Thus, the water temp will not even begin moving towards 60-65 until at least the second week in March, maybe later. I think its going to be late - Say March 19th (unless we get some 75 degree days soon). However, those cobes are going to be stacked up and April is going to be phenomenal once the water gets around 70.

I'm with AC, the fish are going to be jumping in the boat when they do show up.

They got a 73# off Ft Desoto in Tampa about a week or so ago. Hell I would still be heading south if I were a cobia. It has gotten down to freezing at night damn near everyday in 2010. Hopefully the warming trend starts soon!!!!

My guess is March 24th off a boat and March 26th off the pier. I seriously doubt that March fishing is going tobe real good (unlike last year) due to the cold. Hopefully they will be stacked up by early April as the water temp gets right and we'll have abanner month. A lot of old timers say that a real cold winter makes for a real good cobia season.

Its easier to guess who will catch it rather than when, if I was a betting man I would put my money on ahatteras with a green hull
