what year was it that Cape Horn redesigned the 19 offshore? I am looking to buy one in the next 6-8 months and am curious what years to look for/stay away from.

I've had a 95 CH 21 which had no bow flare that we put spray skirts on. It was wet running into a quartering wind but great boat. Have a 94 CH 19 now that has more of a flare than the 21 did. Again it is a little wet but great fuel efficient boat

Ok, so theoretically speaking, would you guys rather have a early 2000's(03-04) 19 with a 2 stroke 150 or an older(95-96ish) 21 w/ a newer 4 stroke?

Bigger boat with newer engine. I've noticed that the 21 took waves better. 3 foot waves are much tougher on you in a 19. The boat does fine but I hurt more at the end of the day

Believe it or not there I a ton more room in a 21 compared to a 19 so I say 21 with new motor and a set of curtains

My 03' is the old style hull. When I spoke with Fabro Marine they said it was 04'. I wouldn't stay away from any Cape Horn as long as it has been taken care of. Yeah, some of the older ones ride rougher, and are wetter boats than some others, but a lot of it is how you drive it and trim it. The rest of it is the weather. If you are in a quartering wind, your getting wet in most 19' boats anyway.
