if someone was interested in a project boat, I'd recommend asking the guy to sign the title over if you removed it. Getting that boat out of there will take some work and a good tow boat. If I remember correctly, if left aground like that for 90 days it's considered an abandoned hull. There's another in Ft Walton that sank because it filled up with rain after the guy that lived on it died. That boat would be about zero red tape, pump it out and tow it away.

Ispoke with the guy yesterday. He has the title and does want 1000 bones, Also the EPA wants to be present during the removal to make sure you dont damage the Turtle Grass or whatever it's called.

Such a shame to see something like that. By the time it's finally salvaged and restored, someone will have spent a small fortune making it seaworthy again. IMO it would be much easier to keep it up and maintain itthan go through a major restoration project. :doh

What I'm wondering is why the EPA or Coast Guard or someone isn't fining these people for everyday they leave their vessels abandoned/sank/submerdged in a turtle grass area or whatever they call it. There are about 30 boats that havebeenfloating around bayou chico since hurricane Ivanand no governing body seems to givea fart. Someone needs to cut all the derlicts lose and hitch 'emto the back of a mexico bound freighter.

as soon as you said the EPA wants to be there, I am officially not interested.....
If you damage that grass while they are monitoring the removal, it costs thousands of dollars! |

This boat was at swaphouse for a while. Was down there one day went back the next and it was gone. It didnt drift all the way from swaphouse tho the people there did say someone came and got it. Looks like there it is. I guess he got tired of working on it.
