Guys I've narrowed it down and am leaning heavily towards the Boston Whaler 15 ft. Montauk. Only thing is they come with Mercury outboards and I'd rather have Yamaha. Plus, they are very expensive.I think it may be worth the $ in terms of dry and smooth ride and re-sale, but I'm not sure about those Mercury outboards. Opinions please!

I think Tailfisher is on to something. My neighbor has a 24 Blazer Bay and an 18 Hewes. Says the Hewes rides better in a chop. I don't know for sure. Just what he told me.

Have you lookked at Tidewater? Tidewater was started by one of the "Se Pro" brothers. It looks just like the Sea pro. (It looks just like the pic above this post)I bought a 18' CC Bay Max and paid 15k. I looked at Blazer Bay, Sea Chaser, and carolina Skiff, and the tidewater was the one I liked the best. I have a 90hp Yamaha and a very nice I beam trailer and it was 15k. The nicest boat for the money, there are a lot of nicer boats, but they were in the 30-40k range. The Tidwater has a cap on the inside and that's makes a big differece for me. I could not find another boat with a cap for under 30k. The boats without caps, in my opion, look unfinished and start to peel after time. I looked at a Carlonia Skiff that was one year old that didn't have a cap, and it looked terrible. I can go in 8" on water, or go out in the gulf on a calm day. Just my two cents, you may not like it.
