The old Furuno plotter/sounder unit has gone belly up. Can't complain too much as it dates from the late 90's. I'm looking at staying with Furuno, but budget, space, and compatibility with my other peripherals (radar; autopilot) seems to put the new NavNet 3D system out of consideration.
So.... I'm looking at the Furuno GP1850WF/NT and the GP7000F/NT units....and I'm looking for any opinions on either (or preferably both) of these units. All input would be valued. |

I have the 1850 and I love it. The bottom machine is strong. You can see a fish fart at 500ft!!! I would like the screen to be a little larger though but have been very happy with the machine thus far.

Good to know re the sounder on the 1850. Thanks.
The 7000 has a slightly larger display....one of the reasons I'm considering it. |
