Default Suggestions for braid on Daiwa Saltist 50h lever drag

Just picked up a Daiwa Saltist 50h lever drag and was wondering what pound braid to put on it. It can hold over 500 yds of 50#br. I am planning on using it for jigging and bottomfishing. 26# max drag. Trying to decide between 65lb or maybe 80. Anybody have any experience with this reel or suggestions let's hear it. Thanks in advance!

I would go with 80lb, you wont need more than 300 yards unless your going to deep drop/jig

yeah line capacity should not be an issue. I was wondering with 26# max drag is it likely that a fish will be able to exert enough stress to break 65 lb braid? IF no one else has any experience I will likely go with the 80 to be sure. Thanks! d-a

i'd go with 80 even though the gain is small you'll gain some abraision resistance and peace of mind with the 80 lb braid. what brand are you going with? i've heard the daiwa and tufline braid is top notch for the money.

I would probably go with 80# if you plan on fishing deep for big stuff. I really like suffix braid a lot. We have some new OTI briad at the store which is really cool stuff. Very strong and small diameter, but it changes color every 25 feet so you can accurately judge the distance from the bottom. It's pricey $$, but good stuff.
