I have fished for stripers upthe Escambia River but have always had better luck up on Yellow river near theWeaver and Broad enterences. I haven't fished down there in the last six months but I dont think it has been cold enough for the fish to move outnear the flat. Call Capt. George Finch"Fish the Bite" charters in Milton he will know whats going on.

Quite some time ago they released a butload of little hybrid striped bass there near Jim's Fish Camp. Just ask the folks that work there they can give you the details.
I have caught several Hybrid Stripers in the Blackwater but good luck my home town river has never been a sure thing for me (except my super secret Bream hole...) |

The OLE catch.. Wow looks like a great catch.. I've never really fished for them. Very little upper end of Lay Lake. Heck don't know if we have them that big in P'cola. I'd love to catch one that size..Ilive close to Yellow and Blackwater River.

Some may disagree with me, but they taste just like bluefish to me.Unless you like eating bluefish I'd just catch the strippersand throw them back. They are fun to catch though.
