Default RFRA MEETING THURSDAY 1/15/09

Anyone interested RICH AND MYSELF WILL BE ATTENDING THE ecbcc MEETING OF THE WHOLE IN THE MORNING AS WELL AS meeting with a couple of commissioners after, so we will have an update on the LAARS expansion and we will discuss the plan for the FWC meeting in San Destin amongst other things.

Hope to see you there.

this should definitely be interesting! Commissioner Gene Valentino sounded positive today, so hopefully we will see some resolution finally.

Hope there's some light shed on the FL DEP aversion to extending the LAARS area into state waters. From talking with a few of you guys sounds like are ok with public reefs but not private - would be good to know their definition of private and public and if the extension only allowed public reefs would it be granted.

Can't make the meeting Thursday night - but here's an update on the lobbying of Sen Nelson and Congressman Miller.

Only response yet from letters we sent to Sen Nelson is a post card I received today saying someone would be in touch. The rebuttal to the ACOE response to Jeff Miller's inquiry has been forwarded to the ACOE by Jeff Miller's office.

No feedback from any of the county commissioners I've contacted asking them to meed with their counterparts in other counties and approach Jeff Miller and Sen Nelson directly as a group for support.

Also I believe Bob Zales will be touting the GOMARS plan at the (Jan 23rd?) NMFS Gulf Council meeting
