Not as shallow as you think. My parents live up past that bridge and they have to take the bimini completely off to get under. And on a real high tide, they can not get out at all. They have always been limited to the boat that they can own due to that bridge.

No!!! The one on Navy Blvd by Chets or old Vince Webbs. There was talk a year or so back about putting in a taller bridge to allow for boat traffic in the head of Chico.

They just rebuilt the two bayou texar bridgeswithin the last few years and didn't bother to make them tall enough for sportfishers or other boats with towers, and there is a relatively large marina in that bayou.Unfortunately, I don't think recreational boat access is a major priority for the county.

I thought it was a done deal. It was made public that the bridge would rebuilt higher which would restict it to two lanes there as they replace one of the bridges at a time. I know it has been a big deal for a long time for folks that live back behind that bridge. I grew up back there on the water. My parrents could never own a boat with a hard top, tower, or anything of the sort. Even a T-top on a center console can be too tall during high tide.

Yea, that was not smart, I can notget into Texar, just as I can not access Bayou Grande, the Navy base bridge is too low as well. Bummer.
